ABOUT LAFAYETTE JUNIORS
Lafayette Juniors is a nonprofit organization created to support Lafayette and surrounding communities.
Chartered in 1953, Lafayette Juniors was formed with a primary focus of helping seniors, women and children. For over 50 years, the Lafayette Juniors have given countless hours and numerous dollars through fundraising and service activities. Members experience the joy of giving to others and in return, gain long lasting friendships and a stronger connection to the community. Our main objective is to not only raise money for local charities, but to have fun doing so alongside fellow members.
A message from the President
Amy Friedli, President's Message 2011-2012
Thank you for visiting the Lafayette Juniors website. On behalf of our 50+ members, we want to welcome you to learn more about us. Since 1953, the Lafayette Juniors have been a driving force in the community with our volunteerism and support. Since our first Lafayette Juniors Kitchen Tour over 10 years ago, we have contributed over $220,000 to local charities.
We’ve supported causes for the fight against poverty, hunger, homelessness, child abuse and neglect. Also we’ve contributed to programs in our community that support the Lafayette Library and Learning Center. In addition, we have contributed countless hours of volunteering including sewing comfort pillows for breast cancer patients, making blankets for children in foster care, tot lot clean up at the Lafayette Community Center, and many more community service activities
Besides our two signature fundraising events, Kitchen Tour and Rummage Sale, we also gather together socially for fun events like sauce parties, ladies night out, family picnic and a couples party. Furthermore, our members are also leaders in the schools, community and workforce. Our commitment and tradition for positive change in our community continues today.
I’m proud to count myself a member alongside an exciting, energetic and caring group of women. I invite you to join us at one of our meetings and learn more about Lafayette Juniors.
Warmest Regards,
Amy Friedli

Events/Fundraisers
We host two major fundraising events each year starting with the fabulous Rummage Sale in the Fall and the spectacular Lafayette Kitchen Tour in May.
Over the past several years, we have raised over $220,000 for local charities and community projects. We are grateful for the overwhelming support we have received from our community, for without the generous participation, these events would not be possible. We would welcome your donation today.
In addition to working hard in the community, we gather socially to make and sell speciality food items, host family get togethers, couples events and various movie or restaurant nights.
Community Involvement
We also take pride in giving back to our community in many ways.
For Seniors, we hand write cards which are distributed quarterly to bring cheer during each major holiday. For breast cancer patients, we hand sew hundreds of heart-shaped comfort pillows which are donated to local hospitals. For foster children/teens, we make numerous hand-knotted fleece blankets which are distributed during time of extreme crisis. These children are also presented with holiday gifts, lovingly purchased and wrapped by our members. For the community, we donate many hours to help clean and maintain our local parks as well as help staff local fundraising events. Learn more about our community service projects.
