Marci Dublin , President's Message 2009-2010

I am thrilled to be a part of this organization! Lafayette Juniors has been a contributor to community service for 56 years and has really made a difference in many lives.  We are so lucky to have an amazing group of women who donate their time for extremely worthwhile causes.

Our two signature fundraising efforts, the fall Rummage Sale and the spring Kitchen Tour, will allow us to donate to five non-profit organizations this year:

Brighter Beginnings

Youth Homes

Xenophon Therapeutic Riding Center

Futures Explored

Child Abuse Prevention Council

Contra Costa Interfaith Housing.

Additionally, countless hours will be given by our members to help with the Lafayette Reservoir Run,

sew comfort pillows for women with breast cancer, make blankets for children entering foster care,

cleaning up the Tot Lot at the Community Center, and sending monthly cards to seniors.

Lafayette Juniors really allows us to feel connected to the community.

We are very proud of the work we do and we have a lot of fun doing it.  Our monthly meetings not only

provide us with a venue to conduct our business, but also a social outlet where we can connect with people

from all areas of town.  Plus, our Social and Sauce Committees always afford us a chance to have a good time.

We recently had a Fall Family Party and later in the year we will have a couples’ cocktail party, which shouldn’t

be missed!  Our Sauce Parties are both a way to raise additional money while having fun.  We really do have

an energetic membership!

If you would like to be a part of this group of enthusiastic, hard-working women who strive to make a difference

in our community, please join us!
